Tokyo

I’m introducing some of the best places I’ve visited with my foreign friends and co-workers.
It depends on the purpose of your stay, but I hope you find it helpful.

Top 10 things to do in Tokyo, Japan

Visit Asakusa

I think it’s a spot where you can feel the essence of Japan. You can also try reading fortunes at Sensoji Temple.

Try Kimono

As I recommended also in Kyoto, you can also try wearing Kimono in Asakusa area.

Kimono may seem time-consuming, but it only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to put on a kimono, and about 10 minutes to set your hair.

Visit park

Spring:Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

It has been selected as one of Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots, and is a must-see during the cherry blossom season. In addition, you can stroll through various types of gardens within the spacious grounds, including a Japanese garden, an English landscape garden, and a French formal garden.

Autumn:Koishikawa Korakuen

Koishikawa Korakuen is the garden of the Mito Tokugawa family, one of the three Tokugawa families of the Edo period. It is adjacent to Tokyo Dome.

Eat Japanese Noodele at Tsurutontan

This is a popular udon restaurant with a calm atmosphere, Japanese-style interior, and an extensive menu, with many other dishes besides udon. You can order the amount of noodles from 1 to 3 noodles in 0.5 ball increments. Within this range, the price is the same.

Cosplay picture in Shibuya

I tried it with my friend in different place but I found the costume is very cute here.

Edo Tokyo museum

You can take lots of photos while feeling the streets of Edo.

It’s indoors so you can enjoy it even on rainy days.

Team Labo Planet Tokyo

There are permanent exhibitions at Toyosu and Azabudai Terrace.

Art Aquarium

This is an aquarium located in Ginza Mitsukoshi. We also recommend combining your visit with shopping and dining in Ginza.

Tokyo Open Top Tour

Enjoy the dynamic scenery of Tokyo on a double-decker open-top bus.

If you get tired of walking around during the day, I recommend enjoying the night view of Tokyo on the Tokyo Premium Night Drive.

Climb Mt.Takao

From Shinjuku Station, take the Keio Line or JR Chuo Line to get there in about an hour.

It takes about 40 minutes from Takaosan Station (cable car) to the summit. I couldn’t see Mt. Fuji when I went, but if you’re lucky, you can see it in the distance.

Also try the Mt. Takao specialty “Tenguyaki”

How to get to Tokyo

It is convenient to access the city center by bus from Narita Airport or Haneda.

It’s easy to get around to sightseeing spots by using the subway or JR. If you’re staying for more than a week, we recommend visiting nearby areas.
