Japan can be divided into 8 regions each consisting of several prefectures.
They are Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikku, and Kyusyu Okinawa.

Which prefecture is included in Kansai area?
The Kansai region has six prefectures: Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Nara, Shiga, and Wakayama.
The dialect spoken in the Kansai region is called the Kansai dialect, and although it differs slightly depending on the region, it is characterized by its unique accent and fast-paced speaking style.
And the Kansai region has many areas with a good balance between rural and urban areas that many will be attracted.
Where to visit in Kansai area
Kyoto
17 places have been registered as World Heritage Sites, it is attracting attention from all over the world as a city with high historical value centered on temples and shrines.
If you are visiting with your kids, I also recommend the Kyoto Railway Museum, where you can see lots of trains, and the Toei Uzumasa Eigamura, where you can try being a ninja.

Osaka
You can enjoy gourmet foods such as takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and kushikatsu.
Tsutenkaku, which continues to be a beloved tourist attraction in Osaka, has bungees and a giant slide that have become a hot topic on TikTok.
Furthermore, the Osaka/Kansai Expo is scheduled to open in 2025.
There is also Universal Studios Japan and Kaiyukan, one of the world’s largest aquariums with whale sharks.
Hyogo
Hyogo Prefecture has famous tourist spots. Among them, Arima Onsen(Arima Hot Spring) and Kinosaki Onsen are places you should definitely visit at least once.
There are many other stylish spots around Kobe such as Port Island and Kitanozaka that will look great on social media.
If you like Japanese sake, A liquor museum run by Kikumasamune, famous for its sake is also nice to visit!
Nara
Nara Prefecture, once the center of Japan, is home to some of the country’s best world cultural heritage sites and national treasures.
You can meet many deer in Nara Park. At Todaiji Temple, try climbing through the holes in the pillars of the Great Buddha Hall.
Shiga
This area, also known as the hometown of the Koga ninja, is home to not only Lake Biwa but also many historical heritage sites and hidden spots.
It would be great if you could meet the popular mascot character “Hikonyan”.
Wakayama
There is Kumano Nachi Taisha, which is a shrine with a beautiful contrast between the vermillion color of the temple and the green of the surrounding mountains. As the shrine is home to many gods, it is said to bring various blessings.
